DiAnna Dowsett
Aledo - DiAnna M. Dowsett, 73, of Aledo, Illinois, died Friday, Oct 15, 2021 at Marigold Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, Galesburg, Illinois.
DiAnna was born to Andrew and Catherine Hippler on October 8, 1948. She graduated from Central High School, Davenport, Iowa.
Her many attributes included a wonderful sense of humor, fun loving attitude towards life, and her love for her family and friends. She was an avid gardener, who enjoyed her home and her beautiful flower gardens. She also loved to play cards, traveling, and spread joy and laughter to those around her.
Her greatest joy as a stay-at-home mom was loving and watching her son Lance and her daughter Dawn grow into adulthood. She was later blessed with loving and enjoying her grandson Kaleb Dowsett, who was the apple of her eye.
Among the many roles in her lifetime she drove school bus for Winola school district, was a den mother for the Boy Scouts. She worked as a night manager at Hardee's in Aledo where she established many lifelong friendships. She also had a special place in her heart for the United Methodist Church in Aledo, where she worshipped her God.
She is fondly remembered as a caring daughter, an amazing sister to her 3 sisters; Jean, Ellen and Maryetta, and her 7 brothers Charles, Carl, Jack, Mike, David, Mark and Steve. She is also loved by her brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and fondly remembered as the favorite aunt by her many nieces and nephews.
Per her wishes, cremation has been accorded and a celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the family for a memorial to be established. Dennison Funeral Home, Viola, Illinois, is assisting the family.
