Linda Lee Sinele

Niota - Linda Lee Sinele, 81, of rural Niota, Illinois, passed away at 10:52 a.m. Monday, October 18, 2021, at her home in Niota.

She was born on June 25, 1940, in Aledo, Illinois, the daughter of Ben and Bessie (Bistline) Castor. On April 15, 1962, she married Loren Dale Sinele in Marston, Illinois. He preceded her in death on May 8, 2012.

Survivors include her two sons: Lance (Stacy) Sinele of Arizona, Lane (Angee) Sinele of Powellton, Illinois; one daughter: Lorinda (Tracy) Markey of Carthage, Illinois; nine grandchildren: Andrea (Jeff) Pititto, Ben (Alesha), Luke, Caleb and Matthew Sinele, Hannah (Max) Holmes, Rachel, Lauren and Katie Markey; four great grandchildren: Elise, Bridget, Elliot and Stella; one brother: Larry (Patsy) Castor of Aledo, Illinois; one sister: Janice Duncan of Aledo, Illinois. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one niece and one nephew.

Linda was a graduate of Aledo High School. She retired from Martin's Accounting and helped her husband farm. She was a member of Faith Family Church and the Bright Angels Board. She was treasurer of Nauvoo Senior Citizens and had served on many church committees. Linda was an avid community member. She enjoyed attending every activity of her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed visiting her friends as she was a social butterfly.

Friends may call after 12:00 noon Friday, October 22, 2021, at Schmitz - Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Nauvoo, where the family will receive friends from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 23, 2021, at Schmitz - Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Nauvoo.

Burial will be at Thornber Cemetery in rural Powellton, Illinois.

A memorial has been established in her memory for Thornber Cemetery or Sts. Peter & Paul.
