Aledo - Doris Jean Goodman, 73, of Aledo, IL, died Sunday, October 10, 2021, at the University of Illinois in Chicago. Cremation has been accorded. Graveside services are 11:00 AM Wednesday November 3, 2021, in the Aledo cemetery. A memorial fund will be established. Friends may greet the family for fellowship and food to celebrate her life from Noon to 2:00 PM Wednesday at the Mercer County VFW Post 1571 in Aledo. Fippinger Funeral Home in Aledo is in charge of arrangements.

Doris was born January 21, 1948, in Marion, Virginia to Harold and June Noble Goodman. She graduated from Aledo High School in 1968 and attended Stewart's School of Beauty in Davenport, Iowa. She married Leonard Cooper in June 1970. .

Doris was self-employed as a beautician out of her own home and briefly worked for Violet Liggett in Aledo. She was employed as a cook for Lucille's Restaurant in Aledo.

Survivors include 2 sons, Kevin Cooper of Milan, IL; Paul Cooper of West Burlington, IA; 4 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren; 1 sister Kathy (Charlie) Lemon of Aledo and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents.
