Stephen Duane Hunt

Henry - Stephen Duane Hunt, 83, of Henry, passed away Tuesday November 2, 2021, 5:30 pm at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.

Visitation will be Monday November 8, 2021, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Calvert & Johnson Memorial Home, Henry. A Masonic Service will held at 4:30 pm Monday. Funeral services will be held Tuesday 11:00 am at the Putnam Christian Church. Pastor Terry Broady will officiate. Burial will follow at Henry Cemetery, where full military rites will be accorded by the Henry American Legion. Memorials may be made to the Putnam Christian Church.

Steve was born August 4, 1938, in Henry, IL to Ray and Rita (Waterous) Hunt. He married Cinda "Cindy" Lou Jones on February 28, 1960, in Keithsburg, IL. She survives. Also surviving in one daughter, Vickie Sue Fountain, two grandchildren, Sierra (Ryan) Hensley, and Skyler (Blake) Erisman. His parents and one son, Russell D. Hunt, preceded him in death.

Steve had served his country in the United States Army.

He was a member of the Putnam Christian Church, the Henry American Legion; Masonic Lodge Number 119, for over 50 years; the Shriners, and the Scottish Rite. Steve and Cindy were great supporters of the Peoria Riverman Hockey. They were responsible for the air horns after each goal for over 20 years. Steve also was a member of the Men's Club at Lake Thunderbird. He also was involved in wood crafts, and in the making the movie, Life on the Mississippi using his houseboat the "Cinda".

Steve owned and operated Hunt Lumber and Ready-mix. After closing the lumberyard, he was a truck driver for the Read Bros., and DMI, Goodfield, IL
