Keithsburg - Keith E. Garrett, 88, of Keithsburg, Illinois died Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at Monmouth Nursing Home.

A memorial visitation will be held at Keithsburg First Christian Church on Saturday, January 29th from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., followed by a masonic service and military rites. Memorials may be left for First Christian Church or Keithsburg Fire Department. Dennison Funeral Home, Aledo is assisting the family.

Keith was born July 16, 1933 in Joy, Illlinois a son of Richard Steven and Mabel Elizabeth Powers Garrett. He attended the former Joy Community Schools. In March 1968, he married Betty Anderson, they later divorced. Keith was a Korea-Vietnam Veteran retiring in 1971 after 20 years service with the US Air Force. He then worked for the US Postal Service for 21½ years, retiring in 1992. He attended First Christian Church. Keith was a 32nd Degree Mason belonging to Aledo Lodge #252 where he was Past Master, he also was Past Master of Robert Burns Lodge #113, Keithsburg and the former Charity Lodge #838, Seaton; he was also a member of Eastern Star, Aledo Chapter #126. He belonged to the Scottish Rite Bodies in the Valley of Moline, and the Mohammed Shrine in Peoria. He had membership in the Eliza Lions Club, Bonita Springs Florida Lions Club, V.F.W. Post 1571, Aledo American Legion Post 121, The Retired Enlisted Association, Air Force Sergeants Association, Air Force Association, AARP and National Association of Letter Carriers Branch #292 Rock Island.

Survivors include daughters: Vicki (John Stivers) Smith of Oquawka and Trish (Scott) Nobiling of Roseville; granddaughters: Abbie (Tanner McGeehon) Yeater, Katie Nobiling, and Kristen Nobiling; and his best friend and sidekick: Kennard Kircher.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings: Wayne, Harold (Hap), and Dixie.
