Wanda L. Mitchell

Marshfield, MO - Wanda L. Mitchell, 77, Marshfield, Missouri, daughter of Martin L. and G. Marie (Nussbaum) Anderson was born on November 2,1944 in Muscatine, Iowa. On January 19, 2022, with her loving husband Jerry by her side, Wanda departed this life for her heavenly home to be reunited with her precious daughter, Lachelle.

Wanda and Jerry were married July 6,1963 and have been together for 58 years. During that time both Wanda and Jerry became licensed pilots. Wanda was a bit of a daredevil and went on to become an accomplished private pilot. Wanda also had a love for farm life. She enjoyed being outside either horseback riding or mowing her lawn. She was often accompanied by her beloved dog, Mattie. Wanda also hosted a quilting group for many years in her home. Several of the quilts were donated to charities for auction. Wanda faithfully accompanied Jerry to local area music jams and could always be counted on to help provide refreshments. Wanda had many dear friends and neighbors and will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Marie Anderson, Joy, Illinois, and her daughter, Lachelle, Chicago, Illinois. Wanda is survived by her husband, Jerry Mitchell; her brother, Evan and Peggy Anderson, Raleigh, North Carolina; and her sister, Diane and Freddie Fisher, Quincy, Florida.

Memorial services for Wanda L. Mitchell will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 5, 2022, at Day Funeral Home, Marshfield, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to help with the upkeep of the Millersburg and Eliza Cemeteries in Illinois and left in care of the Day Funeral Home, P.O.
