Bonnie K. Sloan Pratt

Bonnie K. Sloan Pratt, 72, of Springfield, passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at The Bridge Care Suites. She was born November 12, 1949, in Muscatine, IA, the daughter of Milton Donavon and Lulabel Eileen Fortney Sloan. She married Roosevelt Pratt on December 31, 2003, at the age of 55 and joked that she was no longer able to bear children.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband, Roosevelt Pratt; sister, Clorita Sloan Kenny of Springfield; brothers, Roby (Marlene) Sloan of Huntley, John D. (Pat) Sloan of Las Vegas; Roosevelt's brother and sister, Joseph Sisusa of Springfield and Aletha (Sylvester) Weatherall of Bloomington; and a host of nieces, nephews and dear friends.
She is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Milton and Lulabel; and brothers, Lindy (Rita, surviving) Sloan and Bernard (Barb, surviving) Sloan.
Bonnie graduated from Westmer High School in Joy, IL in 1967. She earned her bachelor's degree from Western Illinois University, where she attended from 1967 – 1971. She worked for Chapin Hall for Children in Chicago after college graduation. Bonnie then went on to be a social worker for American Red Cross for 13 years in Chicago and 7 years in California. She finally worked for the State of Illinois Comptroller's office for 10 years.
Bonnie was an active member of Women Against Cancer, where she enjoyed giving counsel to other members and was a very active aunt.
Services for Bonnie were held on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at Staab Funeral Home, Springfield, IL.
