Margie L. Stirn

Margie L. Stirn, 73 of Aledo, passed away Monday, May 9, 2022 at Genesis Medical Center in Aledo. Cremation has been accorded. Graveside services are 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 13, 2022 in the National Cemetery, Rock Island, Illinois. Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Thursday, May 12, 2022 at Fippinger Funeral Home in Aledo where memorials may be made to Trinity Presbyterian Church. She was born September 27, 1948 in Rock Island, Illinois to Arvid and Mary Catherine Castor Decker. Margie graduated from Aledo High School. She married John "Jack" W. Stirn December 23, 1967 in Aledo. He died May 16, 1982.

Margie retired from Mercer Market and was previously employed at Quinn Brothers.

She was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Aledo. Margie enjoyed quilting, sewing, gardening, snow, snowmen and especially following her grandchildren's activities. She was an avid Cubs fan.

Survivors include two sons, John (Toni) Stirn of Danville, Iowa; Ritch (Karen) Stirn of Aledo, IL; six grandchildren, Brittney (Josh Udvare) Stirn of Fort Madison, Iowa; JD Stirn of Coralville, Iowa; Drake (Lexi) Stirn; Kayla Stirn; Sydney Stirn; Kale Stirn, all of Aledo, IL; one sister, Marlene (Bernie) Meegan of Washington, Illinois; two nieces, Mary Kay (Mike) Gehringer; Heather (Eric) Travis, all of Washington, Illinois.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
