Obituary

Allan Roy Kraklow, 84, of Toulon, passed away at 10:40 a.m. Thursday, October 27, 2022 at his home. Allan was born on September 28, 1938 in Moline, the son of Carl A. and M. Helen (Sievers) Kraklow. He married Barbra Ruggles on May 17, 1959 at Zion Lutheran Church in Taylor Ridge; she survives.

Also surviving are his four children, Linda (Brian) Moran of New Berlin, WI, Karen Kraklow, Steven (Sheri) Kraklow, and Paula (Michael) Leezer all of Toulon; 13 grandchildren, Paul (Stephanie), Kevin (Tess), Matthew (Leanne), Stephanie (Richard), Megan (Kevin), Shania, Jaclyn, Jamie (Cody), Joshua, Sarah, Nicholas (Allison), Jenny (Jeremy), and Lacey; 18 great-grandchildren plus two more on the way; one sister, Darlene Schmidt of San Marcos, TX; one brother, Daniel (Melanie) Kraklow of Muscatine, IA; and one sister-in-law, Betty Kraklow of the Quad Cities. He was preceded in death by his parents; three grandchildren, Mark, Zachary, and Samantha; one great-grandchild, Taylor; three brothers Carl Kraklow Jr., David Kraklow, and Duane Kraklow; two sisters, Grace Hepner and Marjorie Baker.

Allan attended Illinois City Elementary School and graduated from Reynolds High School in 1956. He worked at Kent Feeds in Muscatine, IA until he moved to Toulon in 1959. Allan worked as a farmer until his retirement in 2019. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Taylor Ridge IL, until 1960 when he transferred to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Kewanee. He served as the Sunday School Superintendent, member of St. Paul’s school board, and as an elder. Allan also served on the board of directors for the Stark County Farm Services and the Stark County Farm Bureau. He was also a charter member of the Stark County Genealogical Society. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with family and friends.

His funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 3, 2022 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Kewanee. Rev. Burnell Eckardt will officiate. His visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at Haskell Funeral & Cremation Services in Wyoming and from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 3, 2022 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Kewanee. Burial will be at Toulon Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Kewanee, the Alzheimer’s Association, or a charity of the donor’s choice. Condolences may be left for Allan’s family on his tribute wall at www.haskellfuneral.com.
