Osta Maxine Hoexter, 80, of Matherville, Illinois, passed away Thursday, February 11, 2021 at UnityPoint-Trinity, Rock Island.  

A Celebration of Life for family and friends will be held at a later date. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan, Illinois is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to David Hoexter, PO Box 63, Matherville, Illinois 61263 in recognition of Preemption United Methodist Church and the Matherville Volunteer Fire Department,  

Maxine was born February 13, 1940 in Kingston, Missouri, daughter of Claude and Beulah (Givens) Arms. She graduated from Polo High School, Polo, Missouri. She married Richard T. Hoexter on April 14, 1962 in Cowgill, Missouri.  

Maxine was employed with Tri-City Tool & Die and also served as president of Ken-Tronics, Milan. In later years, she was a bus driver for the Sherrard School District.  

Maxine was an active member of Preemption United Methodist Church. She enjoyed assisting her husband with the Society of Manufacturing Engineers and QC Elite Team 648 Robotics. Maxine also bowled in the Morning Glories League for many years.  

Maxine loved cooking for church fundraisers and Wonderful Wednesday community meals. She held many fond memories of vacations with her family and church friends. Maxine loved her horse Redwing and her dogs, especially Smiley. She was very involved in her grandsons lives. 

Surviving are her husband, Richard, of Matherville; sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Julie Hoexter, Sherrard, and David and Susan Hoexter, Matherville; grandchildren, Samuel, Nathan, and Ryan Hoexter and Jenny Keener; her brother, Claude Eugene Arms, Liberty, Missouri; and many nieces and nephews.  

Maxine was preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Michael Andrew Hoexter; sister, Della June Simpson; and niece Stefanie Beal.
