A new water tower for the east side of Aledo is making progress. The tower is located in the Aledo Industrial Park.

Progress is being made on a new water tower in Aledo's Industrial Park. The tower is slated to be completed in November 2008.

A backdoor referendum ordinance was passed by the Aledo City Council on Monday, Oct. 15, 2007 that authorized issuance of $2 million in general obligation bonds to construct a new water tower in the city's Industrial park. The bonds will be used to  renovate an existing water tower (built in 1967) and decommission a third tower (built in 1911).

The bonds would be paid off through revenue from water usage.

The council also accepted the low bid of $884,900 for the construction of a new 400,000-gallon elevated water storage tank and appurtenances, submitted by CB&I Constructors, Inc. of Plainfield.
