Plants, like tomato plants are available in Aledo on Thursdays from 4-7 p.m.

A ribbon cutting was held promptly at 4 p.m. today, in honor of a new Farmer’s Market in Aledo Central Park parking lot. The market will be open from 4-7 p.m. every Thursday. Music is being piped from the Aledo Band Shell, as the market is being held, and at 7 p.m. the Monmouth Dixieland Jazz Band will perform at the band shell today.

There is fresh fruit like strawberries and peaches; green onions, lettuce, parsley and other herbs, tomato plants and lots and lots of gorgeous flowers for the garden. There are also a couple of craft tables and bake sales going on.

The Farmer’s Market will be held from June 11 through Oct. 22.

Call Aledo Main Street for more information at (309) 582-2751.

Baked goods, fresh fruit.
