After several months of remodeling and redecorating, the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Reynolds is ready to serve families in the Southwest Rock Island County and Mercer County areas. Steve Pressley invites everyone to an open house on June 28, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Reynolds funeral home, 801 W. Edgington St., Reynolds, to view the updated facilities.

On Nov. 24, 2008, Steve Pressly purchased Family Funeral Services, Inc., Milan and Reynolds from Dwight Swartz Sr. While Steve did not purchase the property associated with the Milan funeral home, he did purchase the Reynolds funeral home location.

Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home continues to serve families in Rock Island at 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island and in the Milan area at 201 E. 4th Ave., Milan.  Family Funeral Services of Milan families' are being served from the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Milan.

Steve says, "2009 is a great year to be opening a third location, as it is the 120th anniversary of the founding of Wheelan Funeral Home by Charles R. Wheelan. This indicates our commitment to serving families for another 120 years, by people you know and people you know that care."  "I have been as excited about the re-opening of Reynolds, as I have about any of our other projects", says Steve.  "The people in the Reynolds, Taylor Ridge, Edgington, Illinois City and Andalusia communities have been so supportive of our Milan business that I have looked forward to being able to serve them even better, and know we will be able to do that from the Reynolds funeral home."

Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Inc. is operated by its Owner/President, Steve Pressly, a licensed funeral director for 31 years. Steve joined Wheelan Funeral Home in 1984 and became co-owner in 1988. He took over ownership of the company in 1998 and the Corporation changed its name to Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Inc. when the new Rock Island building opened in 2007.  He is assisted by his wife, Cindy and a staff of four other funeral directors, two interns, office manager, office assistant, pre-need counselor and a number of other very committed part-time assistants.

"I look forward to seeing many of our country friends on June 28," he said.
