Carol M. Cunningham, 66, of Aledo, died Monday, Sept. 27, 2010 in her home. Services are 10 a.m., Friday at Fippinger Funeral Home in Aledo. Burial is in Aledo Cemetery. Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Fippingers where memorials may be left to the First Baptist Church in Aledo or the Children's Miracle Network. She was born April 15, 1944 in Monmouth to Martin Barron. She was raised by her aunt and uncle, Flora and LeRoy Palmer. She attended Mercer County schools and Rockridge High School. On June 9, 1962 she married Gary W. Cunningham in Edgington.

Carol was employed for eight years at Reason's Locker in Buffalo Prairie and was most recently employed as a clerk at the Aledo Wal-Mart for 21 years retiring in 2008.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Aledo and a former member of the Buffalo Prairie Presbyterian church. Carol was involved in the DARE Program and was very supportive of the Children's Miracle Network.

Survivors include her husband, Gary, a daughter, Bonnie Cunningham, a son, Michael Cunningham, both of Aledo; three grandchildren, Bryan Cunningham, Kyle (Morgan) Cunningham and J.J. Cunningham, all of Aledo, one great-granddaughter, Zoey; three sisters, Marlene Johnson of Abington, Louise (Bob) Slater of Mediapolis, Iowa and Ann (Roy) Waterman of Stronghurst; two brothers, Marvin (Deloris) Palmer of Eliza and Bob (Mia) Hutchison of Ottawa; two sisters-in-law, Beverly Palmer of Aledo and Sandy Moses of Newton, Kansas and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Martin, Flora and LeRoy Palmer, two brothers, Ron Palmer and John Barron and one sister, Beverly Barron.
