Curt Rincker is ISA 2011 Friend of Agriculture
Curt Rincker, agriculture division chairman for Lake Land College in Mattoon, Ill., was named 2011 Friend of Agriculture today by the Illinois Soybean Association (ISA). Rincker, who is retiring after more than 30 years of service at Lake Land, has been actively involved in both production agriculture and student education.
"Curt Rincker has been a tireless advocate for agriculture, for education and for young people interested in agriculture," says Don Guinnip, ISA director and soybean farmer from Marshall, Ill. "He has widespread respect not only in central and south central Illinois, but also statewide. He is a very deserving award recipient."
Rincker is a past recipient of the Outstanding Lake Land College Faculty Award. Lake Land College has graduated more than 2,500 students finding careers in various agriculture fields.
In addition, Rincker was named the 2011 National Postsecondary Agricultural Student Organization Advisor of the Year and has been a member of the University of Illinois Agricultural Consumer and Environmental Sciences alumni board, University of Illinois animal science advisory board and Southern Illinois University agriculture advisory board.
Active in the beef industry, Rincker is the current chairman of the Illinois Livestock Development Group and coordinator of the Illinois Beef Quality Assurance Program. He is a past president of the Illinois Beef Association and Junior College Livestock Coaches Association and a past superintendent of the North American International Livestock Exhibition livestock contest. He was named the Illinois beef seedstock award winner in 2008.
The Illinois Soybean Association (ISA) is the statewide organization for Illinois soybean growers.
