Anhydrous Ammonia Theft

On August 29, 2011 Mercer County Sheriff's deputies arrested the following individuals during an investigation of a theft of anhydrous ammonia that was witnessed by a Mercer County deputy at the North Henderson CPS plant: Brian E. Brentise (charged with obstructing justice, possession of anhydrous ammonia, and possession of controlled substance), Jason R. Lyons (charged with possession of anhydrous ammonia and tampering with anhydrous ammonia equipment), Erin M. Nelson (charged with obstructing justice, and a Knox County warrant for failure to appear on methamphetamine-related charges), and Calvin G. Hainline (charged with obstructing justice). All individuals were transported to the Mercer County Jail, where they were processed and made their first appearances in Mercer County Court on August 30. Mercer County Sheriff's deputies were assisted in this incident by Knox County Sheriff's office, Illinois State Police from Districts 7 and 14, Blackhawk Area Task Force Meth Response Team, and North Henderson Fire Department.
