The Illinois Soybean Association (ISA) is pleased to announce their newest principal corporate partner, BASF.  The ISA corporate program was established late last year to provide companies with ways to work with the state's soybean farmers in such areas as research, education and legislative affairs and help enhance the soybean industry and profitability.

ISA and BASF have identified raising grower awareness regarding better management solutions as a key area where the two organizations can collaborate.

"We're very happy to have the opportunity to work more closely with BASF," says Matt Hughes, ISA chairman and soybean farmer from Shirley, Ill.  "This partnership will allow us to reach more growers with information that can help them be more productive and profitable."

ISA and BASF launched a series of meetings for farmers on weed resistance management in February.  The meetings were held throughout the state to help educate and prepare farmers to combat weed resistance.  The meetings featured key academia input, farmer panel discussions and information on a range of technology solutions and providers to help with the growing problem.

Bryan Perry, BASF market manager, says, "Partnerships with organizations like ISA are very important to us, and we want to make the most of them, both for ISA as well as ourselves.  By partnering with ISA, we are able to bring new and relevant information to the grower, and in a timely manner."

About the Illinois Soybean Association

The Illinois Soybean Association (ISA) is the statewide membership organization for Illinois soybean farmers.  With support from dues-paying members and corporate partners, ISA lobbies for legislation, regulations and other policies that may affect freedom to operate.  The farmers on the ISA board administer both legislative and membership programs.  The mission is to ensure Illinois soy is the highest quality, most dependable, sustainable and competitive in the global marketplace.  For more information, contact ISA at 309-662-3373, or visit
