Summer fun is not just for kids at The Buchanan Center for the Arts. On Friday, July 15, from 7:00 to 9:00 pm, The Buchanan Center for the Arts and Market Alley Wines will partner to offer an evening of Manet, Monet and Merlot. This event will give adults an opportunity to brush up on their painting skills, train their eye on a still-life and sip some fabulous wine. Monmouth College Professor Emeritus Gary Willhardt will serve as guest artist and will lead us through some basic painting tips to approaching your own still-life. Topics will include color mixing, brushes and basic techniques. Conversation won’t stop at paint though as Susan Kaufman of Monmouth’s own Market Alley Wines will be on-hand to provide information on the wine shop, details on the vintages and a variety of wonderful wines for you to sip as you paint.
Registration is open until the 15th of July with a fee of $30 per person. Or you can take advantage of the “Early Bird Special” and register by July 12th for $25.
Absolutely no prior experience necessary and all materials are provided for you. Fees cover all materials, instruction and refreshments. Space is limited and slots can not be held without payment. With only twenty slots available, anyone interested in participating is strongly encouraged to take advantage of the “Early Bird Special.”
For more information, or to register, stop by The Buchanan Center for the Arts or call 309-734-3033. Participants must be 21 or over. The Buchanan Center for the Arts; Arts for everyone!
