The Galesburg Heritage Days Living History Association will hold their 17th annual Heritage Days on Friday, August 19 through Sunday, August 21 at Lake Storey Park.  The event features both a colonial/pre-1840's Rendezvous and a thoroughly fielded civil war encampment within walking distance of each other.

Civil War activities include a military ball, two major battle reenactments, ladies tea, period fashion show, camp tours, demonstrations and children's games.  Attending as special guests for the weekend will be actors portraying President and Mrs. Abraham Lincoln, Mark Twain, General Robert E. Lee and General Ambrose Burnside.

The pre-1840's Rendezvous area, with over 100 camps, will offer horse and wagon rides, Faire Wynds Circus, Brigand's Folie period music, candle dipping, a fashion show, period mercantile vendors, demonstrations and two food cafes.

The entire event is free and open to the public.
