Rock Island County Extension's Home & Community Education Association invites the public to attend a spring member's recruitment event from 11:30 am - 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Saturday, April 17 at Christ Church, 1717 8th Ave., Moline.

The cost to attend the luncheon is $10 for HCE members and $15 for the public. Seating is limited, RSVP today to ensure your seat at this fun event! Register online at www.extension.uiuc.edu/rockisland or call (309) 756-9978 Ext 10.

Participants are encouraged to wear tropical attire-sun dresses, sun hats-to this festive program celebrating our 50th State! The delicious Hawaiian themed buffet style luncheon features pulled pork, pineapple casserole, fresh fruit, tropical desserts and fruity drinks.

Following lunch, you'll learn about the fabulous state of Hawaii including the flora and fauna of tropical islands, and Hawaiian island history and culture. You will also enjoy a live performance of Hawaiian luau dances performed by members of the Philippine-American Association of the Quad Cities!

The event is a great opportunity to meet members of the HCE and learn how you can become involved in this group. The mission of HCE is to offer life-long learning in an informal setting; help members develop leadership skills, be a forum for family-related issues and provide an increased awareness of family needs in all parts of the County. There are many different HCE chapters adult members can enroll in. Membership information will be available at the Luau.
