The annual Mercer County 4-H BBQ will be held Friday, June 10, 2011 at the Mercer County Fair Grounds, Aledo, from 4-7 p.m.

The menu will be a grilled butterfly pork chop sandwich, baked beans, applesauce, dessert & drink for $7. A hot dog may be substituted for the pork chop at the cost of $4.50.

All proceeds from the BBQ will go to the Mercer County 4-H Federation. This group offers financial support to the County 4-H program through scholarships, workshops, educational program and youth leadership.

In addition to the BBQ, members are selling frozen pork patties.

The patties are from Thrushwood Farms, Galesburg. Each box contains approximately 24 patties and cost $20. Orders are now being taken for delivery on the BBQ night. Orders will also be taken the night of the BBQ for a later delivery.

The members are also holding a silent auction. The proceeds from the auction will be donated to the Mercer County Agricultural Society to help with the fair expenses. Anyone may donate items for the auction.
