This year's Rhubarb Fest is a mere month away. Preparations for the festival are well under way.

Founder of the event Darlene Johnson was busy April 4 planting Impatients in the center of Central Park to dress the park up a little for upcoming events.

Johnson said this year's rhubarb crop looks splendid. "We have a wonderful rhubarb crop," said Johnson. "This week I'm outside. Next week I will be busy making wine, juice and bites that will freeze for the tasting tent."
