Vicki Butler of Swedona will be performing at several area holiday events in the upcoming weeks.

Vicki Butler of Swedona has a busy holiday schedule this year. She has recently produced a Christmas CD and has a number of places locally where she will be performing.

She is scheduled to sing in Aledo during its Holly Days on Dec. 5 as part of Stut's Hallmark living windows display from 5:45 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Vicki will also be a part of the New Windsor Christmas Walk on Dec. 19, at Ron Partlow's greenhouse shelter.

Butler has performed all over the Western Illinois area and is known for her sweet voice and large repertoire. She says she has been singing for about 28 years. "I started in church," she said.

Her new CD, Vicki Butler's Merry Christmas, is available by either emailing her (Vlb3367@hotmail.com), or calling her (309) 476-8554. Sheila Spencer is also taking orders for the CD. Call Sheila at (309) 667-2518 or (309) 221-1355.

Songs included on the CD are Come on Ring Those Bells, Grown Up Christmas List, Silver Bells, Rocking Around the Christmas Tree, Merry Christmas Darling, Breath of Heaven, There's a New Kid in Town, Mary Did You Know?, Winter Wonderland, Tennessee Christmas and Christmas Shoes.

"I'm also going to be at Mercer County Nursing Home on Dec. 15, at 10:30 a.m. for the residents and on Dec. 17 at Heritage Woods at around noon," she said.

On Dec. 6, Fireworks Coffee House is hosting a CD release party from 2-4 p.m. for Butler. The coffee house is located at the intersection of 16th Street and and 23rd Avenue (Avenue of the Cities) in Moline.

This is her second solo CD. "I did a solo gospel CD Praise His Name back in 2005," she said.

Butler was one of three members in the area group called Souther Grace. "I sang with the group for around 12 years," she said.  "When we split up I went solo." Southern Grace produced one CD called Providence. Vicki lives in Swedona with her husband Kenneth Butler. They have four children, ages 30 to 18, and five grandchildren.
