Lelia Olson to turn 90
Lelia Olson, born Dec. 12, 1918, in Ohio Grove Township, Mercer County. She is the daughter of Ora and Minnie (Bryant) Melton. Lelia married Fred Olson on Dec. 29, 1944 in Little York. Her children are Peggy (Evan) Anderson, College Station, Texas; Nancy (the late Don) Miller, Buffalo Grove; David Olson, Rural Route, Seaton. She has five grandchildren; Elizbeth (Corey) Thompson, Tyler (Stacy) Anderson, Scott Miller, Amanda (Mickey) Garvin, and Lindsey Miller.
She taught school in Henderson and Warren Counties and taught at Seaton Elementary School for 24 years. She retired after 30 years of teaching. She has been an active member of Retired Teacher of Mercer County, the Historical Society of Henderson County, Monmouth Hospital Auxillary, United Methodist Women, The Crimson Clan of Monmouth College, The Little York Womens' Club and the Senior Citizens of Little York. She has served on the Henderson County Board of Womens' Extension and the Cancer Board of Henderson County.
