Schone's Friendship Farm, located at 15711 13th Street, Milan, is hosting its annual volunteer training session for anyone interested in helping with the New Kingdom Trailriders. Training runs from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. on April 4.

NKT conducts an in-depth training course for all volunteers in the program to ensure safety and fun for all. For all in attendance, there will be hands on experience and a light lunch served.

New Kingdom Trailriders is celebrating its 25th year of offering therapeutic horseback riding to specially challenged individuals in the Quad Cities and its surrounding communities.

The organization operates mainly with volunteers and holds riding sessions from April - October. Through riding sessions, riders experience physical, mental and social development.

NKT is funded primarily through donations. Various fund-raisers are held throughout the year. Volunteers are invited to participate in special events and fund-raising throughout the year as well as weekly riding sessions.
