Ashlee Boers and Bill Harkey are wed

Ashlee Boers and Bill Harkey, both of Viola, were united in marriage on Nov. 29, 2008 at the First United Methodist Church in Kewanee. Terry Lancaster of the United Methodist Church in Mineral officiated. A reception was held at the American Flemish Club in Kewanee.

Parents of the bride are Peggy Berlin of Kewanee and the late Raymond Boers. Parents of the groom are Brian and Sandy Harkey of Aledo.

Members of the wedding party included matron of honor Sherry Cowling of Mineral; and bridesmaids Lisa Porter of Tampico, Sherri Gard of Beaufort, S.C., all friends of the bride.

The best man was Sam Sell, of Illinois City, friend of the groom. Groomsmen were Clint Barnhouse of Viola, and Matt Frisk of Geneseo, all friends of the groom. Ushers were Todd Boers of Kewanee, brother of the bride and Jim Lafever of Joy, brother-in-law of the groom.

The groom is a graduate of Sherrard High School and Universal Technical Institute. Bill is employed by Roadlink.

The bride is a graduate of Annawan High School, Black Hawk College, and Midwest Horseshoeing School. Ashlee is employed by The Times Record.
