Arnold and Marjorie Roquet celebrate 60th Anniversary

Arnold and Marjorie Roquet of New Windsor, will be honored with an open house in observance of their 60th wedding anniversary. The open house luncheon will be held on May 17, 2009 from 11:15 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. in the Christian Education Building of the New Windsor Presbyterian Church. All friends and relatives are invited. The couple request gifts to be omitted.

Marjorie Jean Brooks of Milan and Arnold (Bub) Roquet of New Windsor, were married May 15, 1949 in the Milan Presbyterian Church.

They are the parents of Candice Wilson, Sherrard and Trudy Litwiler, Aledo. A son, Bradley, died of Leukemia in 1967. The Roquet's have five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Mr. Roquet was in the Air Force for two years before entering into a partnership with his father, George Roquet. Together they owned and operated Roquet Produce and Feed store in New Windsor for 17 years. He then was employed as Postmaster of New Windsor for 25 years, retiring in 1988.

Marjorie was employed by the Winola School District as a kindergarten aide and secretary for 20 years. She retired in 1987.

Arnold has been a life member of New Windsor Presbyterian Church and Marjorie has been a member since their marriage. Both have been active in their church, the American Legion and Auxiliary and New Windsor Fair Board.
