O'Brien & Shoecraft engagement announced

Dolores Shoecraft of Chandler, Arizona (formerly of East Moline) is pleased to announce the upcoming wedding of her youngest daughter, Paula Perez Shoecraft, daughter of the late Robert L. Shoecraft, to Matthew J. O'Brien, Ph.D., son of Kathleen and the late Michael O'Brien of Aledo.

The bride is a graduate of Arizona State University with a degree in broadcast journalism. She is currently employed by Northwest Bank & Trust Company as marketing director. The groom is currently completing his doctorate in pediatric psychology at the University of Iowa, where he is employed as a behavioral specialist at Iowa Children's Hospital. The two met while volunteering at an event for the American Heart Association.

In addition to their bridal registry, they have set up a fund in honor of both of their fathers who died of heart disease. The celebration will take place June 27 at the new Jumer's Casino and Convention Center in Rock Island.
