McMeekan's celebrate 50th anniversary with an open house

Richard and Ramona McMeekan of Viola, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary at an open house at the Preemption Methodist Church on May 30, 2009 from 4-7 p.m. All friends and relatives are invited to attend (no gifts, please).

Richard Hugh McMeekan and Ramona Jean Watson were married on March 20, 1959 at the Milan Presbyterian Church in Milan. Richard has been a farmer all his life and is also a retired mechanic. He continues to farm in rural Viola. Ramona taught elementary school in the Sherrard School District for 40 years, retiring in 2003. They are active members of Cable Community Church in rural Sherrard.

Their daughters and spouses are Teresa (John) Wyant, Coal Valley; Carolynn (Bill) Gombert, Orion; Elizabeth (Cory) Bollinger, Spencer, Ind.; Rebecca (Brian) Heick, Davenport, Iowa. Their grandchildren are Katie, David and Ben Wyant; Bill, Lisa, Alex and Julie Gombert; Jacob, Adam and Natalie Bollinger and Logan and Olivia Heick.
