Doris Hyett to celebrate 85th birthday

Doris K. Hyett, Aledo will celebrate her 85th birthday with her family on Sunday, Oct. 18.

Doris was born in rural Aledo on Oct. 18, 1924 to Lloyd and Kathryn Volentine McCaw. She married Merle Hyett Nov. 16, 1946 Aledo. He passed away in 1991.

Her children are Vicki (Tom) Boruff, Eliza, Nancy (Phil) Koresko, Aledo, Susan (Rick) Beckstrom, Compton and Allen (Becky) Hyett, Aledo. She has 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Doris worked 25 years for the Rock Island Argus in the Aledo office. She is a member of the Joy United Methodist Church, Joy.

Doris is currently a resident at the Mercer County Nursing Home, 309 NW 9th Ave., Room #207, Aledo, 61231, where she enjoys cross-stitching and renewing old acquaintances.
