Curt and Mardelle Morrow celebrate 50th wedding anniversary

Curt and Mardelle Morrow of Andalusia celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Oct. 3, 2009, with a family dinner. They returned recently from a trip to the East Coast.

The former Mardelle Braucht of Aledo and Curtis Morrow of Joy were married Oct. 3, 1959, at the Aledo Methodist Church by the Rev. C.H. Essmann. Attendants were Mary and Carl Barnhouse, sister and brother-in-law of the bride.

Curt retired from Green Chevrolet in East Moline in 2004. He currently is mayor of Andalusia. Mardelle retired from the Aledo Wal-Mart in 2002.

The couple have three children, Linda (Mitch) Anderson, Andalusia, Karen (Greg) Anderson, Moulton, Ala., and Dr. Jay (Wendy) Morrow, East Moline. They also have six grandchildren, April, Amber and Andrea Anderson and Matthew, Joshua and Joseph Morrow.

At the time of their marriage Mardelle was society editor of the Times Record.
