Mercer County Hospital has named Ted Rogalski its new administrator

Ted Rogalski has been named administrator of Mercer County Hospital under the terms of a renewed management agreement between Genesis Health System and the Mercer County Hospital Board of Directors.

Genesis Health System recently renewed an agreement to provide management of day-to-day operations at Mercer County Hospital. Mercer County Hospital is a county-owned, 25-bed acute care hospital.

Rogalski, who has been with Genesis Health System since 1997, has most recently been interim president of Genesis Medical Center, DeWitt Campus in DeWitt, Iowa. Rogalski will report to Jeff Cooper, who has served as interim president of Mercer County Hospital. Cooper will be returning to Genesis Medical Center, DeWitt as president.

"By aligning these two 'critical access' hospitals under a single management organization focused on the unique health care needs of our more rural communities, we expect to improve quality, patient safety and operational efficiency,'' said Doug Cropper, President and CEO, Genesis Health System. "This seamless management transition will allow us to continue serving the needs of patients of Mercer County Hospital with quality care and patient safety.

"Ted has proven his abilities to successfully manage operations in the critical access environment in the past year as interim administrator in DeWitt. Ted brings to this new assignment nearly 20 years of health care and related management experiences that make him the ideal leader for the future of Mercer County Hospital."

Rogalski is a graduate of St. Ambrose University in Davenport, where his father, Edward Rogalski, was president. Ted Rogalski received a Masters in Hospital and Health Administration from the University of Iowa in 1997.
