On April 24 Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts from western end of Mercer County will be racing ducks at the Keithsburg Boat Club.

Events will start at 11 a.m. and run until 2 p.m. that day.

Last year the scouts sold more than 800 ducks for the race. "We always hope to exceed last year's total," said Tammy Adams.

Money raised at the duck race will help send scouts to summer camp. The camp costs the scouts $180 apiece. Half of the money raised will go to the Boy Scouts and half to the Cub Scouts.

To purchase a duck see an area scout.

There will be a lot of activities involving flying ducks, shooting a duck with a marshmellow bow and arrow and shooting ducks with a sling shot.

There will also be an obstacle course. Last year's leftover ducks will be available for adoption as well.

Pork chops and hot dogs will also be for sale.

For the first time ever t-shirts will also be sold. One hundred t-shirts are available for sale.

Last year there were more than 100 people in attendance. More than 150 pork chops and 80 hot dogs were sold the day of the event.
