Public Building Commission accepts bid for Mercer County jail expansion

Members of the Mercer County Public Building Commission accepted the lowest bid from Vanguard Contractors to build a new addition to the Mercer County Jail.

The Mercer County Public Building Commission approved a bid from Vanguard Contractors to construct an addition to the Mercer County Jail at the commission’s April 20 meeting.

The commission unanimously voted to accept the bid.

Vanguard Conractors provided the lowest of five bids. The winning bid was $3,783,400, which was $149,000 less than when the commission originally bid the project out.
