Tour of Homes featured for Antique Days

Keith and Sharon Chandler; 210 NW 3rd St., Aledo is one of four homes that will be on a Tour of Homes on Saturday, Aug. 28, 2010 during Antique Days.

Aledo Main Street is offering a Tour of Homes featuring four historic homes during Antique days, Aug. 28, 2010. The tour will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Ticket price is $10 and can be ordered in advance by calling the Main Street office at (309) 582-2751, or go on the web site at www.aledomainstreet.com to purchase on line.

On the day of the event tickets will be available at the Aledo Main Steet booth in Central Park or at any of the homes. There is no particular order the homes must be seen.

Homes for the tour include: 909 S. College Ave., home of Gary and Bonnie Eastin; 1002 S. College Ave., home of Keith and Sharon Chandler; 210 NW 3rd St., home of Mark and Leann Baldwin and 414 NE 7th Ave., home of Jerry and Gail Noble.

"At each of the homes, when visitors get there, they will receive a brief history of each home and a map, of where the homes are," says Pam Myers, executive director of Aledo Main Street.

New this year, are souvenir wooden nickels for the first 1,000 people. "They're collectors. People can come year after year and get these," Myers says.

At the Main Street booth souvenir rhubarb puzzles will also be available.
