Marjorie Taylor to celebrate 80th birthday

Marjorie Taylor of rural Aledo will celebrate her 80th birthday on May 14, 2011. The family is planning a luncheon cruise aboard the Celebration Belle in Moline and a party at Happy Joe's in Aledo for the event. Cards can be mailed to 1020 240th St., Aledo, IL 61231.

Marjorie was born in Burgess to Tracy and Dorothy (Johnson) Morris. She graduated from Aledo High School in 1949. She then worked at Stuts Drug Store and Production Credit. On Jan. 16, 1954 Marjorie married David W. Taylor. He died Dec. 21, 1992.

Their children are Joe (Kathy) Taylor of Hampton, Rev. Ron (Jodi) Taylor of Gladstone, Mo. and Nancy Taylor of rural Aledo. Grandchildren include James Taylor (Lindsay Schultz) of Edgerton, Mo., John Taylor (fiancee Nicole Henggler) of rural Aledo and Jessica Taylor of Gladstone, Mo.

Marjorie's sisters and brothers-in-law are Eleanor (Louis) Lloyd and Martha (Elden) Cirks, all of Aledo. Marjorie is a member of First Baptist Church, Aledo.
