Midwest Hoots hold sixth annual variety show

Rusty Ruggles started out the sixth annual Midwest Hoots variety show, held Saturday, July 30, at the Aledo Band Shell.

The Midwest Hoots Relay for Life team finally landed a good day to hold the annual fund-raiser for the American Cancer Society -- July 30, 2011. The group's May variety show was canceled due to rain.

Saturday the sixth annual variety show was held after the group's pork chop meal at the Aledo Central Park Pavilion.

In conjunction with the variety show, a pie auction was held between each of the 14 acts. In all $1,817.75 was raised that night.

The show included singing, dancing and playing musical instruments.
