Country Bank Sponsors Fall 2011 Meet The Team

Meet the Team night for Mercer County High School has been scheduled for Friday, Aug. 19, 6 p.m., at the George Pratt Memorial Field in Aledo. Meet the Team night is an opportunity for the community to meet athletes, cheerleaders, pompon squads and coaches. It’s also a night of a football scrimmages.  

For the 13th year, Country Bank will serve as sponsors of the event. Country Bank provides pork chop meals free to all of the players, cheerleaders, the pompon squad and coaches. The Mercer County Athletic Boosters will be selling pork chop sandwiches and various other refreshments for spectators.

According to Dwight Reynolds, senior vice president at Country Bank, “Meet the Team has become such a great back-to-school tradition. We feel strongly about continuing our support of a variety of school events that both the students and community enjoy.”  

The evening begins on the football field with introductions of the cheerleaders and pompon squads, the golf teams, the volleyball teams and the football teams. Junior varsity and varsity football scrimmages will follow on the field.  

“The start of the fall sports season is an exciting time in most communities and the Mercer County school district is certainly no exception,” says Brian Dennison, Mercer County ahletic director. “The communities in this district have established themselves as ones with unmatched support for the young men and women that make up our athletic programs”.

So bring your family for a Friday night outing; get a pork chop, meet the teams and watch some football.
