50th Anniversary for Petersons

    Harry and Elaine Peterson of Viola celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on July 9 with family.

    They were wed September 2, 1961 at the Preemption Methodist Church by Pastor Robert Carlson.

    Harry and Elaine have lived in Viola for the past 50 years. Harry had Viola Soil Service, then consolidated with Hamilton Soil Service, then Peterson-Weaver LLC in Galesburg, where he is still working as a fertilizer broker. Elaine is a housewife.

    They are still members of the Preemption Methodist Church.

    Harry and Elaine have three children, Darla (Robbie) Handsaker, Dara (Mick) Carr and Darin (Christi) Peterson, as well as seven grandchildren.

    The Petersons have a home in Hot Springs, Ark. where they spend a lot of their time.
