WIU Summer 2011 Graduates

Nearly 490 students earned academic degrees after the 2011 Summer semester at Western Illinois University. Of those, more than 60 graduates had been students whose primary attendance site was at the WIU-Quad Cities campus.

Bachelor's degrees were awarded to 380 students, which includes 62 students awarded Western's Bachelors of General Studies (BGS) degree that coordinates the high quality availability of WIU academic resources to provide individuals with flexible educational opportunities.

Academic distinction was awarded to undergraduate students who achieved high grade point averages. This includes: Summa Cum Laude, 3.90 GPA or higher on a 4.0 scale; Magna Cum Laude, 3.75 to 3.89 GPA; and Cum Laude, 3.6 to 3.74 GPA.
