Pollocks to celebrate 50th anniversary

John and Janice Pollock of Viola will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a trip at a later date to the Ozark Mountains. Janice McClure and John Pollock, both of Viola, were married Sept. 10, 1961 in Viola.

    Their children are John (Lupe) Pollock and Lori (Jeff) Nelson, all of Moline. Their grandchildren are Jonathan, Tracy, Alyssa, and Malia Pollock of Moline; Leah (Sean) Byrd of Madison, MS; and Jeffrey (Emily) Nelson, Jeremy and Abby Nelson all of Moline. Their great-grandchild is Peyton Nelson of Moline.

    John retired from Mer-Roc FS, Inc. of Aledo in 1998 and Janice worked as a secretary at Winola Unit Schools, Viola, and later at Black Hawk College, Moline. After John's retirement, they began and continue their own business of Hilltop Lawn Decor, Viola, selling storage sheds and lawn furniture.
