Walter & Erma Martens to celebrate 65th wedding anniversary

Walter and the former Erma Seitz are celebrating 65 years of marriage.  They were married Sept. 14, 1946 at Zion Lutheran Church, Taylor Ridge, where they are still active members.

Walter was born Jan. 3, 1918 in Cozad, Nebraska. He served in the Pacific Theatre during WW II. He is a fine mechanic and an accomplished woodsmith.   Erma was born Nov. 11, 1925. She enjoys cooking, crocheting and quilting, and has helped make hundreds of quilts for local and world charities.

The couple moved into Reynolds in 1954 where they raised four children, Dennis (Phyllis) Martens, Andalusia, Sandra (Dean) Young, Andalusia, Dallon (Karen) Martens, South Bend, Indiana, and Esther (Mark) Anders, Westland, Michican. God has blessed them with 16 grandchildren and 16 great- grandchildren.
