Sept. 2     Bluegrass Lunch in the Park

Aledo Main Street invites everyone to kick off the Annual Barnes Family Bluegrass Festival with lunch and a concert in Aledo's Central Park on Friday, Sept. 2. A menu of BBQ pork sandwiches, hot dogs, chips, applesauce, dessert and drink will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and one of the Bluegrass Festival bands will perform from noon to 1 p.m. at the band shell.

Sept. 2-3     Aledo City Wide Yard Sales

Aledo's City Wide Yard Sales are Friday and Saturday, Sept. 2nd and 3rd. For details, log on to aledomainstreet.com.

Sept. 2-4     Orion Fall Festival

The 39th Orion Fall Festival is Labor Day Weekend, Sep. 2-4. Festivities start at 5 p.m., Friday, at Orion's historic Central Park at 4th Street & 12th Avenue. The parade is Sat. at 1 p.m.. Enjoy carnival rides, the legendary pie auction, live entertainment, antique tractor show, Cub Scout Soap Box derby, bags tournament, the Charger 10-mile run and Tommy & Lindsey Nicholson 5K, and so much more! Sept. 3      Bi-County Thunder Softball Tryouts  

Bi-County Thunder will hold Girls 16U ASA Softball Tryouts on Sat., Sept. 3, 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., at Alexis Fieldhouse. Girls not yet 17 years of age by Jan. 1, 2012 are eligible to attend. Please bring all necessary equipment such as bat, glove, helmet, catchers gear, etc. Please bring tennis shoes in addition to cleats as tryouts will be indoors and outdoors. Sept. 3     Labor Day Weekend Fish Fry     

Sat., Sept 3rd, is the 7th Annual Labor Day Weekend Fish Fry at the Keithsburg Campground. The Catfish Contest sign-up is at 6 a.m., with weigh-in at noon. Serving starts at noon and there are 50/50 raffles throughout the day, live music and more. The day wraps up with fireworks at dusk. All proceeds benefit the fireworks fund. Sept. 3     Free Worship Concert in Central Park     

A free Worship Concert in the Park, sponsored by Grace E. Free Church, is Sat., Sept. 3, 7 p.m., at Aledo's Central Park Bandshell. Featured are Steve & Jenn Perkins from Memphis, TN, Grace Worship Team, skits & more. For more information, call Nancy at 582-5200.
