Aledo American Legion Post 121 hosts bingo every Friday night with cash prizes. Doors open at 5 p.m. with bingo starting at 6:30. Food and drink are both available. Proceeds aid local charities. Friday September 30, Hillcrest Golf & Camping Resort will kick off the Haunted Woods. Join them for some spooky fun. $10.00 per person gets you a hayrack ride, and a tour through the Haunted Woods, The dates are every Friday & Saturday night September 30 - October 29. The volunteers to help with this event are the surrounding area high school students. The menu for Haunted Woods is: Witches Warts Chili, Slithering Salad, and Creepy Crawler Cupcakes the price is $5.00 or a new unwrapped toy. All toys donated to Toys for Tots.

Saturday, Oct. 1, 8 am - 3 pm, the Cambridge United Methodist Church is hosting a craft show and Gourmet Shop with hundreds of beautifully decorated jars of homemade jellies and pickles, bread & cookies, fudge and more. Breakfast (7-9 am) and Lunch (11-1:30) will also be available. Revenue from the show will be used to further local community mission projects. The church is located at 120 W. Exchange St., Cambridge. A benefit "Neighbors For Nat" is Sat., Oct. 1, beginning at 11 am at the New Boston Fire Station. There's an auction, bake sale, basket raffle, 50/50 drawing, kids games and entertainment, along with pulled pork sandwiches, hot dogs, baked beans & chips. The meal cost is by donation. Donations of time and auction items are appreciated. Monetary donations can be made to Joy State Bank c/o "Neighbors For Nat." Twelve area couples will show off their fancy footwork with proceeds to benefit the George Pratt Memorial Track and Field Renovation Project. Mercer County "Dancing with the Stars" will be on Saturday, Oct. 1, at the Mercer County High School Auditorium. There will be two performances at 4:30 and 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $8 and are on sale now at Wagner Pharmacy, Stut's Drug Store, McKnight Pharmacy, Mercer Market or from any instructor, dancer or committee member.

A fundraiser Buffalo Dinner will be served from 4 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, October 1st,at the Mercer County VFW Post 1571, 106 S.W. 3rd Ave., Aledo. Tickets are $10 each and kids 6 years old and younger eat for free. Proceeds will benefit the VFW activity fund.
