Trees In The Park

Would you like to decorate a Christmas tree in Aledo's Central Park? You can sponsor your own tree for a $32 fee, get a business or individual to sponsor the tree for you, or the tree committee can match you up with a sponsor. The fee pays for the tree, and you provide your own lights, decorations and creativity!

This year's theme for Trees In The Park is "An All American Christmas". The trees will be set up in Central Park on Saturday, Nov. 26, with signs by each tree to show both the sponsor and the decorator. The trees can be decorated any time from that afternoon to 4 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 2, prior to the Christmas Walk.

The trees will be judged at 5 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 2 during Aledo's "Holly Days" Christmas Walk. Judges will award points for overall appearance, originality, and use of the "An All American Christmas" theme. Ballots will also be taken during the Christmas Walk for the "People's Choice" award. The decorators will be awarded cash prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place, and for the People's Choice.

Please call radio station WRMJ at 309-582-5666 as soon as possible to let them know if you will decorate a tree this year.
