Viola Public Library Events
Looking for something fun to do before the holidays get here? The Royal Neighbors of America Chapter 20066 of the Viola Public Library has the answer. We are holding a 60-Second Challenge Carnival on Saturday Nov. 19 at the Viola United Methodist Church. Contestants have 60 seconds to complete various challenges to win prizes. Games include dropping CD disks onto a can, blowing cups off a table, putting together a jigsaw puzzle, catching pencils and a few more. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the games stop at 8 p.m. Games are open to children and adults. Admission to the carnival is a donation to the Viola Food Pantry.
Mark your calendars for two upcoming library events sponsored by the library's RNA Chapter 20066. On Dec. 10 the library, friends group and RNA Chapter are holding a Children's Christmas Store from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Children can purchase items for family or friends for Christmas for $0.50 per item, get free gift wrapping and visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus. The store is held at the Viola Community Center. Children can bring their letter to Santa and the groups will make sure he gets it and sends a letter in return (please include your name and mailing address for accuracy).
On Saturday Feb. 18, 2012 the library and RNA Chapter 20066 will have their Annual "Are You Smarter Than a Librarian" Trivia Fundraiser. This annual event is held at the Viola United Methodist Church. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the game starts at 6:30 p.m. Cost is $10 per person and teams are limited to eight members. There will be ten rounds with ten questions each. Mulligans can be purchased for $1 each (limit of 6) with one mulligan allowed per round. There will be various raffle items and team prizes will be awarded during the game. This is our big fundraiser for the year, so plan on attending and having a good time.
