Emily Mills was named the 2012 Mercer County Fair Queen Tuesday night,  the first night of the fair. Mills, the daughter of Mary and Sheila Mills of Milan, defeated eight other candidates to claim the crown. Aislynn Fox was named the 2012 Junior Miss and Josey Jalin Harkey the 2012 Little Miss.

"i was in shock," said Mills after she heard her named called. "I've had a great time (competing) We had such a good group. We've really bonded"

Mills decided to compete in the pageant after her sister competed in it a couple Everyone was really nice. I'm good friends with Morgan (Anderson the 2011 fair queen). I know there is a lot of work involved in the county fair queen pageant.

Fox said  "I was thinking 'oh my gosh my year is going to be so different that I thought it would be.' I was thinking that this was a dream come true. It is a dream come true. I'm so excited about this year. McKara (Caldwell, the 2011 Junior Miss) helped me. I've got lots of parades in the future. I've really been inspired by McKara since three years ago when we were both Litle Miss candidates. She's what started off my wanting to do the pageant.

Harkey said she has enjoyed her time practicing for the pageant and likes 'dressing up. "My favorite part was modeling."
