New Windsor woman in Geneseo play
Richmond Hill Players next offering is Herbert E. Swayne's old-fashioned melodrama, "The Curse of the Aching Heart." The show will be presented Thursdays through Sundays, July 11th through July 21st at the Barn Theater in Geneseo.
The sweet heroine of this modern melodrama is the lovely orphan Melody Lane, who falls in with scoundrel Windermere Hightower, who insists she help to carry out his criminal schemes after they marry. Revolted, she flees, a wife in name only. Months later she is at the None Such ranch where she falls in love with stalwart Lucius Goodenough. When Windermere appears at the ranch, Melody is appalled – will she ever escape his evil clutches and find true love?
The cast features Sarah Ade, John Donald O'Shea, Moline; Jordan Lipes, Elizabeth Buzard, Taylor McKean, Jackie Patterson, Suzanne Rakestraw, Jackie Skiles, Mike Skiles, Geneseo; and Annie Amanda Wilson, New Windsor. Tom Morrow, Rock Island, directs the show.
The staff includes stage managers Dave & Sandy Bailey, Hooppole; costumer Stacy Herrick, Cambridge; tech director Jennifer Kingry and set builder Mike Skiles, Geneseo.
Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays the doors open at 6:30 pm with the show beginning at 7:30 pm. Sundays are 3 pm matinees with the doors opening at 2 pm. Late seating is not permitted; no one will be admitted to the theater once the performance has begun.
