Dorothy Armstrong open house is Sunday, Aug. 5

Dorothy Armstrong, 405 SE 13th Ave. Apt. 170, Aledo, will be honored at an open house on Aug. 5, 2012, in observance of her 90th birthday.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend from 1 to 3 p.m. at The Aledo Depot. No gifts, please.

Dorothy Hall was born Aug. 1, 1922. She married Dale Armstrong on Dec. 21, 1941, at Brea Congregation Church, Davenport. He is deceased.

Her children are Sharon (Joe, deceased) Witry, Willington, Fla.; Karen (Jerry) Gillett, Aledo; and Cindy (Roger) Sanders, Sherrard.

She was employed at Servus Rubber and the Arsenal. She was a farm wife who managed the egg operation. She is a member of Reynolds Methodist Church. She enjoys playing golf, bowling and playing cards. She also likes spending time with her grandchildren, Barbara Hoffman, Kathy Jahn, Joe Witry, Katie Witry, Amy Sanders, Lisa Sanders and Eric Sanders. Her great-grandchildren are Kaitlin, Lauren, Andrea, Tyler, Karie, Brian, Jacey, Nick and Lucy Cate.
