Helen C. Fuhr of Aledo will turn 100 years young on October 6, 2016. She will be honored at an open house on Saturday, October 8 at the Preemption United Methodist Church fellowship hall from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. (no gifts please)

Helen was born Oct. 6, 1916 to Elmer and Ruth Peterson Goben in Old Gilchrist. She married Duane Brown (deceased). She later married Philip Fuhr (also deceased).

Her children are Linda (Bud) Wakefield, Milan, Marilyn (Clair) Thompson, Virgil (Maxine) Fuhr, both of Edgington, and Ivan Fuhr (deceased); daughter-in-law Darlene Fuhr, Andalusia, son, Robert Brown is deceased. Helen has many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She is a member of the Edgington Presbyterian Church and resides at Brookstone of Aledo.
